As part of the ongoing training on antenna systems and following the workshop hosted in Turin in January, researchers from FC.ID/CIÊNCIAS have started scientific missions with POLITO.
Since the 24th of March, seven online meetings have brought together PhD student Henrique Lopes, researchers Daniela Godinho and Raquel Conceição from FC.ID/CIÊNCIAS, and researchers David Rodriguez-Duarte, Francesca Vipiana, and PhD students Alex Ramiro Masaquiza-Caiza and Martina Gugliermino from POLITO. The meetings have focused on the design and development of new antennas for axillary and breast microwave imaging.
Building on this collaboration, Henrique Lopes visited POLITO between the 26th to the 31st of July of 2026 to test the antennas he designed and prototyped for breast and axillary microwave imaging systems. During the mission, he applied and further developed the knowledge acquired through the training, working on antenna development, optimisation, and experimental characterisation, with the support and expertise of the POLITO team.
This collaboration is strengthening technical expertise and advancing the development of antenna solutions for next-generation microwave imaging applications.
