On the 21st of November, members of FC.ID/CIÊNCIAS attended the 19th Congress of the Portuguese URSI Committee, whose theme this year was “New Frontiers in Technological Innovation for Health”.
Raquel Conceição, who is also Vice-President of URSI’s National Scientific Commission K, was the keynote speaker of the event and moderated the first panel dedicated to “New frontiers of technological innovation for health”. Hugo Ferreira gave one of the presentations of the first panel about brain-imaging technologies. The second panel was moderated by Nuno Matela and was focused on “Healthcare outside the clinical setting”.
In the afternoon, PhD student Henrique Lopes competed for the Best Student Paper Award and Daniela Godinho competed for the ANACOM–URSI Portugal Prize. The event wrapped up with Henrique Lopes being honoured with 3rd place in the Best Student Paper Award for his PhD research.
